Thanks for all your kind words. As to using it, you may want to know that this is a subject to change without notice since it's an undocumented feature.

I've got a mail from Magnus Stråle (chief architect at EPiServer AB) who suggested that using Object store at current time might pose some risks for future compatibility.

Quoting from his mail:

Right now we have the upcoming EPiServer CMS release (aka Odin or EPiServer 5) where object store has been given a few tweaks (new serialization format and support for generics in the API and in the store), but object store will still be undocumented and subject to change at any time. I e data that you store in object store may be incompatible between releases.

So while it should be fairly safe to export/import between releases, make sure you are aware of it. The great part is:

In a future version, codename Thor, we will make object store public and documented. Exactly how Object store will look in the future is not yet decided. We will take a long, hard look at the current implementation after the Odin release...

Yay! I am so pleased, this is a really cool technology and I'm really looking forward to the functionality it may provide us with!

There is also a great deal of functionality there which I have not ever blrushed upon, like channels and relations. It's going to be a ride!

This is fabulous! I might give the Object Store a go myself, now that I know how it works :-)

Your Between query is just odd, and I shall not even mention your hex values. ;-)

Very interesting indeed. I have been developing EPiServer solutions for a few years but haven't come across a proper walkthrough, example and explanation of the mysterious Object Store functionality. Thank you for the effort!
